The services below are offered in most towns and major cities.
| Item | Cost | Description |
| Bath, common | 1 sp | A basic bath in a deep, stave-built oak soaking tub filled entirely with fresh, steaming hot water. The tub is lined with clean linen sheets to protect skin from splinters. For this price, a basic chunk of common grey soap was provided to scrub off travel grime and a servant would stand by with a pitcher to pour clean, warm rinsing water over your head. |
| Bath, luxury | 10 sp | Similar to a common bath, but the tub is in a private room and the bath includes luxurious oil based soap. |
| Common street whore | 0.5 sp | A few minutes with a common street whore in a back alley will typically cost a half a silver piece (5 copper). |
| Brothel - Average | 3 silver | An hour with an average house girl in an average brothel. Three silver pieces gets you the girl for an hour, a straw mattress and a clean sheet in a private room. For an additional silver, the customer can sleep the night in the room. |
| Brothel - Excellent, one night | 50 silver | A full night with a beautiful courtesan at a high end brothel. This would be a private luxury room, a four poster bed with goose down pillows and so forth. Usually includes a luxury bath as well. |
| City Guide | 3 silver | A city guide for a full day. |
| Jewelry Appraisal | 10 silver | Identification and appraisal of a single art object or piece of jewelry. |
| Laundry | 1 silver | Full-service cleaning of a week's worth of linens. Includes personal body linens and household napery. Linens are collected, soaked in boiling wood-ash lye or chamber lye to bleach out sweat stains, hand-beaten clean, thoroughly rinsed in running fresh water and pasture-dried. Garments are returned crisp, flat-pressed via linen-press, and neatly folded. |
| Courier, within city | 0.1 - 1 silver | Courier that will deliver a message or package to someone within the same city. Prices varies depending on size of package and size of city. |
| Courier, caravan | 0.1 sp per km | Caravans, pilgrims and other travelers will often carry packages and letters to nearby towns and villages on their route for a few coins. A good rule of thumb is 1 copper per kilometer. So, a distance of 10 kilometers (the next village over) was typical 1 silver piece. |
| Courier, private | 3 to 30 sp per day | A private armed courier to carry a message or package can often be hired in major cities. The price varies depending on the size and weight of the package, the distance, the amount of protection needed and the number of couriers involved. A good rule of thumb is roughly 3 to 30 silver pieces per day. A small package carried by single well-armed rider to a town one day’s ride away would cost 3 silver. A heavy chest, transported by wagon and well protected by ten foot soldiers to a neighboring kingdom (500 kilometers distance) over two weeks might cost as much as 420 silver pieces. |
| Sage, one day of research | 10 silver | This is the typical daily cost to employ a learned scholar or sage to do research in his specific area of expertise in various libraries around the city. This type of service is only available in major cities. |
| Scribe | 1 silver | This is the typical hourly cost to employ an average scribe. A scribe can copy any manuscript in any language he knows. Scribes can also do illumination of documents (border decorations and such). Some scribes, learned in exotic languages and greatly skilled in illustration, may charge up to five times that price. |
